THINK YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE A DOG FOR YOUR KID? THINK AGAIN.

You may not be interested in watching some of these loyal dogs saving their people, but be sure to watch the BEETHOVEN  like savior dogs when their children fall in the family pool. The children were sure to drown without their furry friends.
I volunteered to work with a little girl who fell in a pool when she was two. She was at a neighbor's house when the neighbor answered the phone. In that moment, the little girl figured out how to open the sliding door lock, push open the door, raced to the pool and fell in. I'm not sure how long it took to find her, but the policeman who pulled her out and gave her CPR also volunteered. By the time I worked with the child, she had to eat though an implanted tube in her stomach. Her head seemed frozen to one side. She looked very much like a child with severe cerebral palsy. Her parents were trying everything to bring her back. Who wouldn't? The method that required may volunteers was a program that makes the injured child go through all the stages of development until their brain was injured, including simulating the uterus by swinging the child in a sack. I was part of the team that simulated her crawling. One person moved the legs. Two people moved each arm. And I forced her head to turn, in spite of her rigid neck. She moaned in pain, the entire time. I got fired, because I kept crying.

CHILDREN'S SAFETY IN THE CAR

This is a shocking video of a toddler falling out of their family van. The reminder is obvious. Lock all child safely locks, but put your child in a car sear every time. If you  go to the original YouTube video,  you'll see that a nice lady picked up the child and saved it. And be sure to read the article at this link. DOUBLE CLICK TO ENLARGE.

WHEN SHOULD I CHANGE MY CHILD FROM A CAR SEAT TO BOOSTER

My daughter was always larger and taller than the normal baby. She was in the 98%. I had to call the government at one point to find a booster (but it was a big car seat, which I liked better) that would fit her at 4. Always call the police or fire department for advice, especially when your child starts unlocking the safety locks on the sear.

THE MOST JOYOUS 2018 NEW YEAR'S GREETING EVER!

I've been waiting and waiting to receive a fantastic New Year's greeting for you. But sadly, the child's parents decided the video shouldn't go public. What can I say, since my father was an FBI agent, I called the FBI and asked them if I should post my baby or child's pictures online. They said "never", so I didn't until I couldn't stop her and in high school she did it herself. So, this is a substitute picture from wikimedia commons, with the text from the video as a caption.  PS Picture a little girl in a princess dress wearing giant 2018 glitter glasses, holding with a plastic champagne glass full of ginger ale, toasting her video audience. She's saying "Happy New Year. Cheers. Thank you for the New Year."  I hope you get the joyful idea.
HAPPY NEW YEAR. CHEERS. THANK YOU FOR THE NEW YEAR!

LOCAL HOLIDAY DECORATIONS

I drove around the neighborhood collecting photos of decorations. When I was little, my mother wouldn't take our family to look at lights, she said, "They're tacky." Well, y'know little kids don't know what tacky is, but they love holiday lights and decorations that fill their minds with wonder. The more wonder in their minds and hearts, the more creative they are, the better readers they are and the more innovative they'll be throughout their live. I don't do a great job of driving and taking pictures at the same time. Hope you'll forgive me and still enjoy them. Who care about tacky anyway.

These are my favorite holiday scenes. My puppies playing with my husband at Nana's farm.

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2018. CELEBRATE!

I'm not sure this isn't for a different holiday, but this is how New Year's looks to me.
